Man sues for wrongful conviction

Strange Justice reprinted this story from a Chicago tv station:

"A man who spent nine years in prison for attacking a woman and was later exonerated is now suing the Chicago Police Department and others. CBS 2's Kristyn Hartman reports that the federal lawsuit says Robert Wilson spent nine years in prison for a crime he didnt (sic) commit. He was exonerated last year when the victim recanted her identification of Wilson as her attacker. But Wilson had already lost almost a decade of his life behind bars, missing out on things like raising his kids and pursuing a career. "Going through the system was very stressful and very degrading ... You know, it's hard to sit in the penitentiary for something you didn't do," Wilson said."
